Artisan Loan & Technical Assistance Program
Northern Shores Community Development, Inc. (“NSCD”), has launched a program to assist all adult Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians throughout the state of Michigan purchase supplies needed to teach, show and sell their Artisan products. This program is needed in order to assist in keeping our traditional arts and crafts heritage thriving.
This native community-based program for our tribal residents provides an opportunity for residents to become more familiar with not only running a business, but how to manage costs, display and promote their product, as well as teaching others how to make their own products.
About the Loan Process
- Applicants must complete Native Artist Professional Development Training and provide a short Business Plan detailing how funds will be used. Maximum loan is $1200. (Larger loans will require a more detailed Business Plan, and review by Loan Committee.)
- Must show at least one month of continuous employment or proof of income.
- Upon Review, additional items may be required
