James Sands, Owner and Operator of KKS runs his business out of Dearborn
Heights, Michigan and is hauling everything from auto parts to black Friday merchandise. Currently, he
travels in Michigan and Ohio but may possibly branch out to other states.

James began this process in June, but it has been an idea he has had for several years. He was tired of
missing the important things in life due to schedule conflicts at his previous job. James earned his CDL
five years ago, so this just seemed like the next logical step. James plans to include his family in his
business, and especially can’t wait for his brother to turn 16 and work alongside of him.

James is a member of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians. It was his grandfather Henry
Sands who told him about the NSCD Loan Program. We are all very excited for James and wish him
tremendous success!
